I must confess: I had a weak moment! I was in the coffee aisle
at my local supermarket and I needed some coffee. Any kind of coffee.
Money is tight and I had just run out of the Red Sea Blend from High Rise Coffee.
As I gazed upon all of the cheap coffee brands, I could hear the coffee gods
screaming at me. "No! Don't do it, Steve! Don't do it!" I even
could picture Andrew Anderson, the other official coffee nerd of this web site,
looking down on me with a mix of disgust and sadness. Still, I did it. :(
I bought a large container of Kroger's ground special roast coffee
... for only $3.99! I also picked up some toffee nut creamer too.
When did this happen, you ask? Just this morning. I feel so guilty
and bad about it that I knew I should at least write something on here.
As of now, I have not made my first cup of coffee, but I will definitely
let everyone know how that works. I sure hope that supermarket type of coffee works well with my french press.
Here's a photo of the creamer I purchased. Honestly, I really want to assure you that I only put just a touch of creamer in my cups of coffee. I realize there are purists out there who scorn on putting anything in one's coffee, and I'm sure people will criticize this creamer as a needless "foofy" addition to an otherwise good cup of joe.
Please bear with me. I'm a work in progress! :(
Goodness! I did not realize buying a huge container of supermarket
coffee would be this difficult for me on an emotional level. Okay, now
that this article is published, I will do the next important step: I will
e-mail Andrew at High Rise Coffee to let him know the news. Sheeeesh!
I feel like I'm confessing to a major crime! :(
Everyone have a wonderful coffee drinking day! -Steve
